Our Fishing Lakes

The Clay Pool

A 1.2-acre reed-fringed lake, now offers anglers fantastic mixed coarse fishing with a wide range of quality species and exciting action for various techniques

The Pit

A 2.5-acre traditional deep-water gravel pit, boasts excellent year-round Bream fishing with the potential for large catches, alongside Carp and Tench, in a peaceful setting with ample pegs and fish-holding features

The Mirror Pool

This lake offers a more wild and natural coarse fishing experience across its 4.5 acres, promising good sport with Bream, Roach, and Tench, and the exciting possibility of hooking into less pressured, quality fish in its varied depths

Idyllic!

I stayed at Star Carr Lakes for a week and didn’t want to leave. I had a table right at the front of my lodge overlooking the lake, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset. The lodge was very well equipped, everything I needed to cook and relax in peace. Diane and Steve were so welcoming when I arrived and were on hand if I needed anything. Their dogs are incredibly friendly too, always happy to join me for some fuss and company.I’ll definitely be back. It’s the perfect little hideaway in nature.

Beyond the Lakes: What’s Nearby?

While the fishing at Star Carr Lakes is top-notch, the surrounding area is well worth a look too. The friendly village of Brandesburton is a short walk for a pint or a bite to eat. And if you’re after a bit more buzz, the historic town of Beverley, with its magnificent Minster, shops, and cafes, is just a quick drive away. Something for everyone, whether you’re after peace and quiet or a bit of local culture.

An absolutely fabulous place to stay. The accommodation is brilliant with everything provided, and it's spotlessly clean! We are going to try a book again but is very popular.

Ian Kitson

Clean, well cared for, excellent fish care, real friendly owner. Lots of choice of pags and three lakes offering bream, tench, Ide, crucians and more. Idyllic place with great attention to detail, tree planting and peg care. Site users are courteous and the toilets are spotless. Nets and mats provided on site, bring your own net pole. Natural baits work as well here as pellets.

This is a great traditional fishery, it is immaculately maintained with solid level pegs and access across the banks making pushing a trolley easy. the fishing is superb and Steve is friendly and always available to provide advice
